On the occasion of celebrations of 60 years of Independence of India, special interest rate is offered to Senior Citizens who have completed 60 years of age on FDSM deposits, w.e.f. 18/08/2007, with either Monthly interest Scheme OR Quarterly interest Scheme only.

Notes :

1. No additional interest on NRE term deposits as the same are now monitored by Libor rates.
2. Monthly interest to be paid on discounted basis to general depositors and the same shall not be applicable for Senior Citizens.
3. Interest shall be paid on premature withdrawals of term deposits made with effect from 18/02/2007, at 1% below the rate applicable for the period deposit has remained with the Bank.

Special Short term Deposit Scheme (w.e.f. 19/05/07)
Minimum Amount : 5 lacs
Period : 7 days
Interest Rate : 4.00% p.a.

(wherein an individual or a Hindu undivided family can invest up to maximum amount of Rs.1 lakh per Financial Year for a period of five years, to claim benefits under section 80C of the Income Tax Act).
